Central: Storm Drain Master Plan

Inland flooding from extreme precipitation events is the biggest exposure for central Corte Madera, though this area is also at risk of coastal flooding, wildfire, and other secondary climate impacts. Stormwater runoff has been a particular problem in some areas of the Town due to climate-induced increases in extreme precipitation, undersized storm drain pipes, inadequate drainage systems, poor inlet conditions, the lack of sufficient gradient for runoff, and land subsidence, which increase the vulnerability of low-lying areas to flooding and pooling.

The Town is in the process of developing a Storm Drain Master Plan to address inland flooding risks. Find resources on this project below.
